Advocate for Preservation
The Cass County Conservancy, as an organization, works as an advocate for preservation of local heritage resources, historic structures, archeological sites, objects, and customs relating to the history of Cass County. The Conservancy assists with projects throughout the county. Listed here are current projects or projects that the Conservancy will facilitate as they develop.
Atlanta Grade School
In 1936, a one-story, six-room brick building was constructed on Miller Street, west of the Texas & Pacific Railway Company tracks in Atlanta. The school was a WPA project and was completed in 120 days, in time for the fall term. Hundreds of Atlanta children passed through the doors of the little school, many becoming influential throughout the nation.
Bloomburg State Bank
The Bloomburg State Bank was organized as the only bank in Bloomburg in 1908. The 1916 building that housed the bank for several decades, is now waiting for a complete restoration to return it to service.
Cass County Courthouse
Historic courthouses are structures that help give counties and communities their unique character. The preservation of the historic Cass County Courthouse demonstrates a long-term vision on the part of the community.

Rosenwald Schools
In the early 20th century, Julius Rosenwald, president of Sears, Roebuck & Company set up a fund to build schools across the rural south patterned after the teachings of Booker T. Washington, the founder of the Tuskegee Institute and what is known today as Tuskegee University.
